In Upper Key Stage 2 Dance, children should perform a range of movement patterns, and explore movements ideas inspired by a stimuli.  Children should combine movements, using basic compositional principles to create and perform dances. Our Year 5 Dance lesson plans develop children’s confidence, sense of rhythm and performance clarity.

Dance lessons are a crucial component of primary school PE.  They give opportunities for children to develop flexibility, strength, technique, control and balance, compare performances, and dance using a range of movement patterns – all key aspects of the National Curriculum. Primary School Dance is also great for building confidence, developing social skills and allowing children to communicate their moods, feelings and ideas through expressive compositions.
