In EYFS Ball Skills children should learn to move confidently and safely, considering and managing risks when using equipment.  Children should develop fundamental movement skills, showing control when throwing and catching a large ball. Our EYFS Ball Skills lesson plans help children develop playing in a group, turn taking and sharing.

Ball Skills lessons are an important part of early years and foundation PE.  They give opportunities for children to play cooperatively, demonstrate strength, balance and coordination and move energetically, running, jumping and skipping – all key aspects of the DfE guidance and early learning goals. Primary School Ball Skills is also great for building confidence, developing social skills and allowing children to understand and follow rules.

All PE Planning lesson plans are created by PE Specialists and include all the resources required to deliver a complete Unit of Work.  Each lesson plan includes full guidance, including illustrations, and you can choose to download either a quick reference plan or a full lesson plan.
