More About This Unit
What do our EYFS Ball Skills lesson plans cover?
In EYFS Ball Skills children should learn to move confidently and safely, considering and managing risks when using equipment. Children should develop fundamental movement skills, showing control when throwing and catching a large ball.
Our EYFS Ball Skills lesson plans help children develop playing in a group, turn taking and sharing.
Why are Ball Skills lessons important for early years children?
Ball Skills lessons are an important part of early years and foundation PE. They give opportunities for children to play cooperatively, demonstrate strength, balance and coordination and move energetically, running, jumping and skipping – all key aspects of the DfE guidance and early learning goals.
Primary School Ball Skills is also great for building confidence, developing social skills and allowing children to understand and follow rules.
